Meal plan:

Included in the housing price is a meal plan. There are several meal plan options:
• 21+ MP and $50.00 per semester, which means 3 meals a day plus an additional $50.00 per semester to spend.
• 18+ MP and $75.00 per semester
• 14+ MP and $100.00 per semester
• 10+ MP and $200.00 per semester

Meals are divided into breakfast, lunch and dinner. For all these meals you have a certain amount of money you can spend, which is the following:
• Breakfast: $ 4.04
• Lunch: $ 7.20
• Dinner: $ 7.55

The only thing is that you have to make use of that money. If you do not fully make use of e.g. the $ 7.20, you are not allowed to add it to your dinner amount. You have to use it, or it will go to the University. (No wonder people then go for snack food).

In general, the food is not that great, all is in large portions and mostly junk food. If you want to eat healthy it will cost you (and still is not really healthy)! However, I have to admit I have not yet been able to go to all the dining places yet, as most of them won’t open till tomorrow.


Sports:

If you want to participate in sports you have to become part of a team. If wanting to become part of a team you have to audition or tryout. If you’re good enough, you’ll be let in. With regard to tennis, IF I you are let in, you would be playing tennis 4 times a week, 3 hours a day! Tennis still needs to be fun, so I will probably not tryout. Instead, I will be playing tennis with I French girl I met and we will train each other. There might be options for real training, but unfortunately haven’t found them yet.


Drinking:

The legal drinking age here is 21. If you order alcohol, in my case a wine, you have to show your ID. If you are younger than the legal drinking age and sitting in a bar just drinking a soda, you will be kicked out at 10 o’ clock! How unfair.. Luckily, I do not have that problem, my Irish friend on the other hand..
